iTunes wants me to restore my iPod. I seriously don’t feel like putting all those songs back on and restarting all my play counts (I’m OCD about play counts). I guess this is a lesson to myself, don’t ever let your iPod run out of power.
It should save your play counts! Those are embedded in the file. I’m OCD the same way. I had to restore my iPod a little while ago and I was afraid of the same thing, but I didn’t have to worry. The only thing it doesn’t keep is the “Date Added” information (because you’re essentially re-importing everything) and customized Equalizer settings. It should keep playlists and play counts, etc. Don’t take my word for it, but I’m fairly sure this is the case.
Hope this helps!
